The Green Transition Alliance (GTA) is the Embassy of Denmark in Malaysia’s strategic flagship project aimed at creating new business and branding opportunities for leading Danish companies in support of Malaysia’s Green Transition.

This is achieved by combining targeted export promotion activities, G2G partnerships and access to key decision makers.

Launched by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, during his visit to Malaysia in December 2024, the Green Transition Alliance embodies the embassy’s strategic efforts and ongoing business development activities to promote green collaboration between Denmark and Malaysia ultimately anchored in a new Memorandum of Understanding covering the following focus areas:

  • Renewable energy

  • Energy efficiency

  • Water & Environment

  • Healthy Urban Living

Throughout 2025, GTA members participate in joint export promotion activities, networking and knowledge sharing events and capacity building seminars alongside tailored activities catering to individual business needs.

As an example, the embassy is currently arranging a combined State Visit and Business Mission to Sarawak, Malaysia to meet with key public and private stakeholders driving Sarawak's green transition.

Blue Water Shipping, a Green Denmark in Southeast Asia member and global provider of all logistics services in modern supply chain management, has been part of the Green Transition Alliance since day 1 and recently commented on why they decided to join:

Says MD Florian Pinz “Green transition is not just a corporate agenda - it is a personal responsibility. At Blue Water Shipping - through the Green Transition Alliance - we strive to build partnerships that prioritize sustainability, innovation, and conscious logistics. But real change does not start only in boardrooms. It starts with individual choices - how we consume, how we travel, how we lead, and how we hold ourselves accountable. You do not have to be a CEO or a corporation to drive this change. You just have to care and act. Let’s raise the bar. For our businesses. For our communities. For our planet.”
