On 24 October, Nordic Innovation House hosted an event to shine a spotlight on sustainability within the built environment. In addition to showcasing Nordic sustainable and energy efficient solutions, the panel discussion was a chance to dive deeper into the priorities, challenges and actions we can take when answering the question of “How to achieve a Sustainable Built Environment”?

The panel discussion was an insightful conversation between knowledgeable individuals within the Built environment from both the Nordics and Singapore.

The discussion was opened by Irma Ylankas, Counsellor of Innovation and Trade Affairs at Embassy of Finland in Singapore.
The panel discussed the challenges arising moving towards a sustainable built environment. They discussed solutions such as low carbon transition through retrofit technologies, the smart use of data and AI in order to improve efficient energy use and other exciting new technologies. They also emphasised the importance of international cooperation when it comes to R&D as well as the possibilities for governments to push this agenda.
The event was jointly organised by Nordic Innovation House Singapore, Innovation Norway, the Embassy of Denmark in Singapore, Business Sweden Asia-Pacific, the Embassy of Finland in Singapore and Business Iceland, and supported by NordicTalks.
