Dimension X (DX) is Hatch’s flagship open innovation where deep-tech solutions are crowdsourced to solve public safety challenges faced by Singapore’s Home Team – the collective of public safety government departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs. This 4-month programme creates opportunities for product-market fit for start-ups interested in public safety by providing a needed balance: between rapid validation of a proof-of-concept (POC), and actual operational requirements.

Start-ups selected receive non-dilutive fund of S$100K to develop a POC in collaboration with Singapore’s government public safety agencies and scientists/engineers from HTX (Home Team Science and Technology Agency) to validate their technologies. Successful POCs have the opportunity to be funded for further research or operational trials with the goal of eventual deployment.

For DX8, Hatch is looking for innovative technologies to address the following challenge statements:

• Detection of small aerial drones under challenging sensing conditions

• Countermeasures on non-emitting drones

• Autonomous collision avoidance of static and dynamic obstacles for small multi-rotor drones

• Real-time high-speed perception for existing Unmanned Surface Vessels

• Resilient vessel localisation in GNSS denied and spoofed environments

• Novel high-throughput standoff detection of concealed objects on person

• Out-of-the-Box (OOTB): Other highly innovative and impactful technologies relevant to public safety
